Vivianite ~ Heart Magic & Release From Codependency

Vivianite is an amazing mineral that works on our entire energy and chakra system, particularly the heart and higher heart. It opens up the emotional energy system, allowing you to dive deep into your heart and embody forgiveness, gentleness, self awareness and compassion – firstly for yourself and then for others who may have wronged, hurt or betrayed you in the past. This stunning mineral brings the energy of peace and love and will open you up to loving yourself and others if you work with it consistently. I always advise connecting to a crystal’s vibration in whatever way feels comfortable to you. You can then sit and hold it whilst watching TV or reading a book so your energy system can soak up the frequencies ~ or use it in meditations, crystal grids or crystal healing therapies.

Vivianite was first discovered in Cornwall in the UK by a gentleman called John Vivian around 1817. ‘Ite’ is the Latin word for rock, so the name literally means Vivian Rock. It is a rare and stunning mineral that is coveted by collectors globally. This mineral is monoclinic, and the most stunning specimens form in fans or blades that are crystal clear. When it first forms, Vivianite is actually colourless. However, due to an incredible process that takes place entirely on it’s own and self contained within the crystal, called deprotonation, the crystals start to change colour into the most vibrant hues, the most popular being a vivid green/blue colour.

Due to Vivianite’s incredible ability to change it’s own colour, purely through an internal process that requires no addition of anything external such as water, chemicals or oxygen, it’s the perfect mineral to support us in any ‘Self’ work. Whether we are working on Self Love, Self Acknowledgement, Self Responsibility, Self Acceptance etc. It’s a mineral that asks us to stand up for and to nurture and love ourselves, to make ourselves a priority ~ not in a way that is selfish, but in a way that ensures we are in top form ourselves. In this state, we are able to be of genuine, non sacrificial service to others ~ especially family/loved ones, from a place of feeling emotionally strong and capable.

This also makes Vivianite one of the best crystals in the Mineral Kingdom to work on releasing codependency and unhealthy attachment in relationships. It asks us to own what is ours and release responsibility for the things that are not ours. Work with Vivianite consciously and consistently (which means at least every other day in energetic terms) if you’re wanting to free yourself from codependency or attachment issues. I would meditate with it and ask it to show me what I most need to know about the Self within a particular relationship and then journal around whatever comes through. Take action on what you can to own your part in things (as everything in relationship is a 50/50 co-creation) and to improve your SELF instead of focusing on the other person. We have zero control over anyone else, but huge power when we take responsibility for ourselves.

Vivianite contains a double dose of Iron in two different forms, Calcium, Manganese and Magnesium, making it a good relaxant, anti inflammatory, pain killer and ‘opener’ energetically. Not all people respond to crystals on a physical level, but if you do, Vivianite is fantastic to work with.

Due to the chemical composition of Vivianite, it is really good for those who suffer from Chronic Fatigue, Seasonal Affective Disorder, depression or anxiety. It brings in the energy of feeling comfortable in your own skin, of self acceptance and love and removes negative energies and unhealthy thought patterns throughout the energy system, in body, heart and mind. With regard to physical healing, Vivianite is said to help the renal system, particularly the liver and the release of anger and the kidneys and release of fear. It also supports the healing of skin or eye complaints, the basis of which lead back to the liver and kidneys energetically. It is highly recommended for those wanting to detox themselves from heavy metals and is said to help those showing signs of senility or dementia. Used with a gentle detox program and detox products such as MSM or Zeolite, the frequency of this mineral supports the body in releasing toxins and heavy metals so that they no longer interfere with our brain neurology.

Vivianite works particularly well therapeutically, when laid on the heart chakra or on any chakra centre. Firstly, it clears any stagnant or unwanted energies. This can bring on an emotional release, so don’t be surprised if you feel a surge of emotion when first connecting to it. Allow that emotion to be fully expressed, whether it be grief, joy or anything else. Vivianite is a great crystal to work with to facilitate emotional release. It then brings in the energy of LOVE and imbues the body/chakra point with that energy. So if you had family issues and were struggling to work through them, place it on the base chakra. If you had relationship issues, the sacral or heart would work better. If there were issues speaking your truth from your heart, use it on the throat chakra etc.

Vivianite is a fantastic crystal to have in the family home or to use in group work as it opens everyone’s hearts and pulls them into the energy of Unity Consciousness and love. Place the crystal in the top right corner of your bedroom or living room to bring more love into your romantic relationship. Place it in the centre of the home in any room to bring in an energy that will support your physical health.
