Faden Quartz is a fascinating variety of Quartz recognised by the distinctive white “thread” running through each crystal. The name comes from the German word Faden, meaning “thread”. This white line forms when a growing crystal repeatedly fractures through slow tectonic movement before healing itself as silica-rich fluids deposit new Quartz. The thread is a natural scar of microscopic fluid and gas inclusions, preserving a remarkable record of the crystal’s breaking and self-repair. It is also known as self-healing Quartz.

Faden Quartz is regarded as a stone of healing, resilience and reconnection. It is said to be particularly good for supporting recovery from broken bones, fractures, torn muscles, severed nerves and other injuries, symbolizing the body’s remarkable ability to heal and restore itself.
